rebakelly.jpgHot on the heels of the release of her 31st album, country music superstar and actress Reba McEntire will be awarded the first ever Woman of the Year award by Billboard Magazine. Reba will be honored at a breakfast banquet in New York City on October 5th. CMT.com reports:

The award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the music business and who inspire other women to assume greater responsibilities within the industry.

She and the other honorees will be featured in an upcoming “Women in Music” issue of the magazine. Reba’s new album, Duets, debuted in stores yesterday. The record features collaborations with great country artists such as Leann Rimes, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, and Trisha Yearwood. There are also tracks with artists of other genres like Justin Timberlake, Carole King, and Don Henley. The current single off the album, Because of You with Kelly Clarkson, is climbing the country music single charts.
