Well, at least there is something besides karaoke to talk about this week when we discuss the new country music releases. In fact, there isn’t a single karaoke album on the list for once. Thank goodness. I’m about all country karaoked out after the holidays. Unfortunately, there still isn’t a whole lot of actual new releases, but there are a few noteworthy entries to consider, so let’s get to it.

First of all, there is a brand new CD of Tim McGraw songs redone as lullabies. This sort of excites me because when my son was an infant and would get on a crying fit, we’d turn on Tim McGraw for him and he’d stop crying (that’s a true story). Now we’re expecting our second child in July, so this CD just may have to be put onto the baby registry! There are a few re-releases of John Anderson albums, and some Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash as well. I’m also glad to see some Ultimate Grammy collections on the list this week, too. There is a disc of country classics and one of contemporary country songs that have been nominated or won Grammys. This year’s Grammy Awards are coming up soon, so it will be good to get in the mood by listening to past winners.
