Jo Dee Messina Runs Chicago Marathon

by Heather Scoville

messina.jpgWell, her give a damn must not have been busted this past weekend. Jo Dee Messina, along with her brother Vincent Messina, ran the Chicago marathon on an extremely hot Sunday in the Windy City. In fact, the marathon was shut down early due to a runner collapsing and later dying from heat exhaustion. The unseasonably balmy October day didn’t seem to phase Messina, who was actually able to finish the race in about 5 hours and 45 minutes.

A seasoned marathon runner, Jo Dee competed in the 2006 Boston Marathon finishing that course in about the same amount of time as the Chicago Marathon. She finished the Boston race with a knee injury sustained sometime in the middle of her marathon run. There were no injuries reported this time around.
