IBMA Awards Results
Last night in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House, bluegrass artists from across the globe gathered to celebrate the best in their genre with the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards. All of the perennial nominees and favorites were again up for the awards this year, but many were surprised when artists such as Alison Krauss and Union Station, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Cherryholmes, and Del McCoury left the ceremony empty handed.
Both Krauss and Vincent, who was ill and did not attend the awards ceremony, were beaten in the Female Vocalist award by first time winner Dale Ann Bradley. The Grascals, last year’s Entertainer of the Year recipients secured the repeat in that category. While they went home without an award, the Cherryholmes performed live and brought down the house with their step-dancing routine at the end.
For an entire list of winners, keep reading after the jump.
