Country Music Charts, Week Ending 1/26/08
While the albums side of the country music charts didn’t change much this week, the top songs on the country music singles charts got a good shaking up. Taylor Swift was able to hang on to the top of the albums charts and really there wasn’t much movement beyond the addition of Anne Murray’s duets album entering the top ten this week.
The country music singles chart was much more exciting this week, and we have a brand new number one single. Brad Paisley’s “Letter to Me” managed to jump from number 5 to number 1. Taylor Swift’s former number 1, “Our Song” fell all the way to number 5 and Sugarland’s “Stay” also took a tumble from number 2 to number 4. Rascal Flatts and Montgomery Gentry both moved up. The bottom half of the singles charts saw no movement from last week.
