Trace Adkins Not the Celebrity Apprentice

Friday, March 28th, 2008

adkins.jpgDid you catch the finale of Celebrity Apprentice last night? It came down to country music star Trace Adkins and British Import Piers Morgan to battle it out for the title of Celebrity Apprentice and the chance for the big money for their charities. Trace knew he’d have trouble beating Piers in the money raising part of the celebrity auction they had to set up for their final challenge. He did, however, sell many more tickets and pulled off keeping the Backstreet Boys happy (even though he couldn’t find their wheat grass juice). All through the live finale, Donald and Ivanka Trump, as well as all the former contestants, gave Trace praise for what a good guy and hard worker he was.

Unfortunately, being a great guy and trying hard wasn’t enough to win the competition. Donald Trump picked Piers Morgan over Trace for his business savvy and knack for raising money. Trace was just happy to have gotten to the end and raise awareness and funds for the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network in honor of his daughter Brianna. He represented the country music industry with dignity and did a great job throughout the competition. Kudos to Trace and congratulations to all the charities involved.

Trace Adkins Celebrity Apprentice Clip

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

In just 2 short weeks, Trace Adkins will be competing against other celebrities in Donald Trump’s brainchild “Celebrity Apprentice”. The show debuts on January 3, 2008 on NBC at 9 PM ET. The goal of the show is for the celebs to raise over a million dollars for their respective charities. The one star deemed worthy of the title “Celebrity Apprentice” by Donald Trump will win an additional $250,000 for their charity.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be sent a link to a great preview video with Trace talking about becoming the Celebrity Apprentice and showing him having to overcome some obstacles and working relationships that may be a bit taxing for the country music superstar. Check it out below!

Trace Adkins Tries to Become the “Celebrity Apprentice”

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

adkins.jpgLadies love country boys, but will Donald Trump? The writer’s strike is definitely lending itself to more reality television, and NBC is capitalizing on one of its tried and true ratings winners, The Apprentice. This time, however, there is a twist. It is a celebrity edition of the Donald Trump inspired show. An eclectic group of “celebrities” have been announced for the special season including country music star Trace Adkins. The stars will compete in business related challenges in New York City in order to raise money for their favorite charities. Joining Donald in the boardroom will once again be his kids, Ivanka and Donald Jr.

Joining Adkins in the cast will be: Vinny Pastore (The Sopranos), Playmate Tiffany Fallon, Olympic Gymnast Nadia Comaneci, Olympic Softball Pitcher Jennie Finch, Former Apprentice villain Omarosa, boxer Lennox Lewis, Piers Morgan (America’s Got Talent judge), Ultimate Fighting Champion Tito Ortiz, Carol Alt (model), Nely Galan (The Swan life coach), actress Marilu Henner, actor Stephen Baldwin, and the legendary Gene Simmons of KISS.

The season began filming on Monday and will air on NBC beginning January 3, 2008.
