New Country Music Releases 4/8/08

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

ottoalbum.jpgThis week in the new releases of country music, hot newcomer and Musik Mafia member James Otto drops his debut album. His single, “Just Got Started Loving You” is sitting steady in the top ten of the country music singles charts and should help his album get a good jump onto the country music album charts as well.

Beyond that, there isn’t a whole lot of new music this week. Tim McGraw and Leann Rimes both have CD singles of some of their songs out this week, and Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson have new compilations hitting the shelves. Let’s not forget Marie Osmond, who is still trying to capitalize off of her “Dancing with the Stars” stint and is releasing a sort of greatest hits collection entitled “Dancing with the Best of Marie Osmond”. Let’s hope that works out for her better than her dancing did!

Country Music New Releases 4/1/08

straitalbum.jpgWhen oh when are we going to get some great new music on the country music scene? There certainly isn’t any this week!

APRIL FOOLS!

Just kidding, folks. I’ll bet some of you were thinking I was crazy, right? There is some great new music this week. The legendary George Strait releases “Troubador” featuring his latest hit “I Saw God Today”. That one will certainly zoom to the top of the country music album charts. There is also a long awaited sophomore album from Josh Gracin out this week, and also some Leann Womack music. Beyond that, there are lots of compilations and “Various Artist” releases to choose from. Looks like we’re heading on the right track!

cash.jpgThis week, it looks like Johnny Cash is the hardest working man in Nashville - even though he’s no longer living. There are a few of his collections hitting shelves today. Dolly Parton also has a few new compilations out, and Kenny Rogers and Waylon Jennings also have hits collections debuting this week. There are some bluegrass albums from Lost Highway and Ricky Skaggs this week, too. I’m starting to hear rumblings of big artists releasing albums in April and May, so let’s keep on plugging until those get dropped.

To see what all comes out this week (there’s karaoke!), keep reading after the jump.

New Country Music Releases 3/18/08

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

swiftalbum.jpgWell, ever since Alan Jackson released his album, it’s been pretty slow on the new country music releases front. This week, you can listen to country love songs or country rock, or you can get yet another Johnny Cash compilation. There is also an instrumental tribute to the Eagles out this week.

If all else fails, you can pick up Taylor Swift’s debut album. Yes, that’s been out for over a year, but this time it has some bonus tracks on it.

To see what you can pick up this week in the new releases section of the store, keep reading after the jump.

Well, there isn’t a whole lot to talk about this week in the country music new releases. Country Music New Releases 3/4/08

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

jacksonalbum.jpgThank you, Mr. Alan Jackson. You, sir, have saved me this week in regards to new country music releases being actually, well, new, and not just rehashed hits from yesteryear. I, of course, knew I’d have a new Alan Jackson CD “Good Time” to mention today because I just couldn’t escape all the press it has been getting for the last week or so. It seemed like every time I turned on the radio a DJ would be talking about the album, or I’d hear an interview with Alan on a countdown show. Let’s not forget all of the hype on the country music television stations as well with old and new performances, interviews, and videos. It shouldn’t take long for his new CD to reach number one on the charts since it’s really the only new thing out there right now and it is Alan Jackson after all.

To see what else you can pick up at the store when you go out to get “Good Time”, keep reading after the jump.

New Country Music Releases 2/26/08

dollyalbume.jpgCompilations, compilations, and more compilations! That’s mostly what’s new this week. There are some greatest hits compilations, some love song compilations, gospel compilations, outlaw compilations, concert compilations, and even DVD compilations. It’s simply insane! I guess the good news is that there are no new Karaoke releases this week.

Even better news might be that Dolly Parton has saved us from rehashed music hell this week with her release of “Backwoods Barbie”. What a great title for a Dolly Parton album!

So if you’re in the mood for some compilations or a little Dolly to spice up your life, check out what was released this week in the world of country music - after the jump.

cagle.jpgWell, we’ve got lots of re-releases and compilations yet again hitting the shelves in stores this week. However, there is one silver lining in this overcast sky. It looks like Chris Cagle’s new album is now available. Hooray! I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for even more great new music from all of those amazing country music artists who haven’t released anything in a long time. New albums should be flowing soon so the summer tours can support the new music. Stay tuned to find out, and click after the jump to see what’s new this week.

Country Music New Releases 2/12/08

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

carriecmaarrival.jpgSigh. Just when I think we’re going to be really rolling on the country music new releases, we get another bummer of a week. Chuck Wicks really got my hopes up that we’d be seeing even more great country music hitting the shelves every week now, but no such luck.

I guess you can look forward to the Carrie Underwood karaoke CD this week? I’m not sure what else to tell you. There is some Glen Campbell, Porter Wagoner and a compilation of Shania Twain. So I hope you get some chocolate for Valentine’s day to eat away your sorrows for lack of new country music in the stores.

If you would like to see what did come out this week, keep reading after the jump.

New Country Music Releases 2/5/08

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

shedaisyalbum.jpgWell, country music fans, let’s check out what is new and available this week on the shelves of the music stores. There isn’t much new again that really caught my attention, to be honest. There are some greatest hits collections from Terri Clark (what happened to her anyway?) and also SheDaisy. You can check out Country Style Season Volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4 and perhaps the most eye catching title in the list “I’m Nuts”. That about sums up my day!

Check out all the new releases after the jump.

Country Music New Releases 1/29/08

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

cash.jpgOkay, I know I asked for more country music releases, but this is ridiculous! There are insane amounts of “new” releases this week for you to peruse. However, most of them are re-releases in special markets only, so they may not be available in your area. I left the labels on this week so you can see which are only in special markets and which new releases should be found everywhere. You can see the entire, extremely long, list after the jump.

New Country Music Releases 1/22/08

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

wicksalbum.jpgGreat news, country music fans! We have some actual brand new country music albums hitting shelves for the first time this week. It’s been a long drought without some new music, but hopefully this is a trend in the positive direction. Of course, there are the usual karaoke selections this week as well (you could sing Ronnie Milsap songs this time), and let’s not forget the re-releases of older music or new compilations of older music, but thank goodness Chuck Wicks has released an actual brand new album for us to listen to. With his hot single “Stealing Cinderella”, his album could very well hit the top ten country music album charts before too long since the current albums have been at a stand still for so many weeks now. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been craving something, anything, new. So, thank you, Chuck Wicks, for releasing some new music and giving me something to look forward to!

Country Music New Releases 1/15/08

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

carriealbum.jpgThis week, we’re still not getting any “new” music released as far as new songs, but we’ve got quite a few collections hitting the shelves this week from some country music legends. If you want love songs, Kenny Rogers and Trisha Yearwood both have new compilations this week to fill the bill. Anne Murray has some duets and Juice Newton, Willie Nelson, and Dolly Parton all have hits collections that are being released this week. Maybe you want some tributes to some newer artists, well you can pick CDs up of tributes to Carrie Underwood and even Miley Cyrus.

To see all of this week’s new country music releases, keep reading after the jump.

New Country Music Releases 1/8/08

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

timlullaby.jpgWell, at least there is something besides karaoke to talk about this week when we discuss the new country music releases. In fact, there isn’t a single karaoke album on the list for once. Thank goodness. I’m about all country karaoked out after the holidays. Unfortunately, there still isn’t a whole lot of actual new releases, but there are a few noteworthy entries to consider, so let’s get to it.

First of all, there is a brand new CD of Tim McGraw songs redone as lullabies. This sort of excites me because when my son was an infant and would get on a crying fit, we’d turn on Tim McGraw for him and he’d stop crying (that’s a true story). Now we’re expecting our second child in July, so this CD just may have to be put onto the baby registry! There are a few re-releases of John Anderson albums, and some Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash as well. I’m also glad to see some Ultimate Grammy collections on the list this week, too. There is a disc of country classics and one of contemporary country songs that have been nominated or won Grammys. This year’s Grammy Awards are coming up soon, so it will be good to get in the mood by listening to past winners.

So if you want to see all of the new country music album releases this week, keep reading after the jump.

New Country Music Releases 12/31/07

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Karaokesign.jpgWell, it may be a new year, but there sure aren’t many new CDs to choose from this week in the country music world. I understand the idea behind not releasing anything at this time of year. I’m sure most country music superstars don’t want to spend their holidays away from their loved ones plugging a new album, doing the media rounds on talk shows, radio shows, and various other outlets, or to have to tour in support of a new album over these holidays. However, what about us fans?

We can’t keep existing on karaoke albums, which is all that seems to be coming out in recent memory. This week we do have a concert album from the late great Johnny Cash, but that obviously isn’t new. If you want some gospel country, you can check out the new release from David Davidson. Otherwise, I hope you got a karaoke machine for Christmas this year because that’s all there is left to choose from this week.

So, if you just happen to be a country music record executive or some other high powered person in the world of country music, please release some actually new albums from our favorite artists and give us something new to listen to!

Here’s to hoping this drought of new country music albums ends very quickly this new year! Until then, you can check out what was released this week by reading after the jump.
