The New Lonestar

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

lonestar.jpgLonestar, the platinum selling group behind the crossover hit “Amazed”, has recently undergone some changes. Most notably, their lead singer Richie McDonald, has left the group to pursue a solo country music career. This is not the first time the group has switched singers, though, as their original lead vocalist was none other than successful songwriter John Rich from the hot country duo Big & Rich. After a long search, and even asking former American Idol finalist and country music singer Josh Gracin to join them, they settled on a newcomer named Cody Collins.

Lonestar is showing off their new sound this winter by putting out a new Christmas album, as well as starting a tour across the United States. The holiday themed tour will begin November 29th right here in my home state of Iowa (Dubuque, to be exact) and includes stops on the east coast. You can see all stops and dates on their official website.

Time will tell if Lonestar can survive the switch, but if history is any indicator, the band will be back and better than ever.
