Superstar Concert Dates Announced

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

chesneyalbum.jpgAs if seeing multi-year Entertainer of the Year Award winner Kenny Chesney in concert isn’t enough, several other superstar acts have been added to his spring and summer Poets and Pirates stadium tour as co-headliners and opening acts. Can you imagine the insanity that is sure to ensue at these venues when they see not only Kenny Chesney, but at the same time get to see Keith Urban, Leann Rimes, Big and Rich, Brooks and Dunn, Gary Allan, Luke Bryan, or even Sammy Hagar (okay, so maybe not as much as the others, but you get my drift)? All of those amazing artists have signed on to perform at least one of Chesney’s stadium concerts, and Leann Rimes will perform at all of them.

Brooks and Dunn will take the stage at 5 of the concerts in Columbia, S.C., (April 26), Dallas (May 3), San Francisco (June 8), Atlanta (July 13) and Baltimore (May 10). Keith Urban will join Kenny Chesney at 9 of his shows including Cleveland (May 24), Phoenix (May 31), Pittsburgh (June 14), Chicago (June 21), Nashville (July 5), Philadelphia (July 19), Foxboro, Mass. (July 27), Detroit (Aug. 2) and Indianapolis (Sept. 13). The other mentioned artists have been signed on for at least one show, but dates and locations for their performances have not yet been released.

Keep your eyes peeled at Kenny Chesney’s Official Site and also at Ticketmaster.com for more ticket and opening act information and to find a concert near you.

Kenny Chesney’s Surgery

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

chesney.jpgIt’s not often you see country music stars in vulnerable conditions in public, but that is exactly what happened with Kenny Chesney today. The ASCAP was throwing a party on Music Row today honoring Kenny’s number one hit “Never Wanted Nothing More”. It was actually a party for the song’s writer Chris Stapleton, but Kenny had agreed to attend to support the songwriter and the song that he took all the way to number one, as long as he didn’t have to speak at the engagement.

Kenny came to the party in Nashville with one arm in a sling. His spokesperson told reporters at the gathering that Kenny had recently undergone “minor corrective surgery” to fix a pre-existing condition in his left shoulder. It was a routine surgery that was performed, and Chesney is expected to make a quick and full recovery.

The “pre-existing” condition wasn’t explained, but could possibly go all the way back to Kenny’s days as a football player. He’s also very well known for his currently ripped body and surely works out with weights and could have possibly aggravated something in his shoulder while he was lifting. Whatever the cause, we hope Kenny has a speedy recovery and is back to playing his guitar and entertaining crowds everywhere as soon as possible. he had better get well soon because he’ll have another ASCAP party to attend in the not so distant future for his latest single to hit the top of the charts, “Don’t Blink” off of his “Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates” CD.

CMA Performers Announced

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

eagles.jpgThis year’s CMA Awards ceremony is shaping up to be full of great live performances. The show will be broadcast on Wednesday November 7th on ABC. Previously announced artists slated to perform include Brad Paisley (who leads the pack with 5 nominations this year), Sugarland, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, and the show’s hosts Brooks & Dunn.

Another huge announcement was made today about the CMA live performances. The Eagles, who have never performed live on an awards show, will reunite to play a song at the CMAs. Their current single “How Long” was released to country radio and has been well received by fans. While The Eagles have never performed live at the CMAs, they have had some previous success with the awards:

In 1993, Eagles drummer Don Henley was nominated for CMA Vocal Event of the Year with Trisha Yearwood for “Walkaway Joe,” which the two performed together during the 1992 CMA Awards. In 1994, Common Thread: The Songs of The Eagles won CMA Album of the Year. The project featured top Country artists performing Eagles’ hits including Clint Black, Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, and Yearwood.

See all of these great artists on “Country Music’s Biggest Night” starting at 8:00 PM ET on Wednesday November 7th.
