American Music Award Nominees Announced

by Heather Scoville

tim.jpgThe nominations for the American Music Awards were announced yesterday in Los Angeles, and the country music categories are overflowing with great songs, artists, and musicians. The American Music Awards are completely chosen by the fans, so you have your chance to vote for your favorite nominee in each category and you will decide the winners. All you have to do is head on over to ABC.com and choose your favorites in the country, and all the other categories. The winners will be announced live on the awards show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel Sunday November 18th on ABC. Voting closes November 2nd, so make sure you get your vote in for your favorite country artists before the deadline!

Did your favorite country music artist make the cut in the Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Band, Duo or Group, or Favorite Album? Find out by checking out the nominee list after the jump.

Favorite Male Artist:
Toby Keith
Tim McGraw
Brad Paisley

Favorite Female Artist:
Martina McBride
Taylor Swift
Carrie Underwood

Favorite Band, Duo or Group:
Big & Rich
Brooks & Dunn
Rascal Flatts

Favorite Album:
Tim McGraw/Let It Go
Rascal Flatts/Me And My Gang
Carrie Underwood/Some Hearts

So who do you think will win each category? Are the nominees right this year or was someone left off the list? I was surprised to see Taylor Swift in there for favorite female artist this year over the “usuals” like Faith Hill, Sara Evans, or even Reba McEntire who has been crossing over the airwaves with her duet with Kelly Clarkson. What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
